Where good horses learn to be better!!!

We are a pair of educators in the Biology Department of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).  Because of our love of horses (and other farm animals), we are willing to take the 45-minute drive to work in order to have a large acreage with rolling pastures, ponds, streams and miles of riding trails. Our rural location ensures a peaceful ride focusing on the beauty of Nature and the relaxing sounds of hoofbeats, Stewart Creek and songbirds. Our shady trails provide relief from the heat of the Alabama summer.

Shortly after moving to Alabama from North Carolina in 1998, we began adding to our "family" of animals (two horses, a goat, a golden retriever and a cat). Currently, we have EIGHT horses, two dogs, fifteen geese, a miniature donkey and a pony mule named Festus. We are currently boarding ten horses for others who love horses but have no land to keep them.
We created this site to advertise the horse business that we hope will keep us busy during our retirement years (Lucy is retired from UAB as of May 31, 2008!).

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
